Khandallah – The suburbs name is said to have come from a homestead built in the area in 1884 by Captain James Andrew who had returned from India. In the very early times of Wellington City, the bridle track and Old Porirua road were used to get in and out of Khandallah.
Khandallah currently houses over 8500 people with a population density of 16-17 people per hectare.
Khandallah enjoys stunning views to the West towards Mt Kau Kau (445 metres above sea level ) and to the East to Wellington City and the gorgeous inner harbour.
