Amber is originally from the L.A area in California, but has lived in Pauanui for over 10 years. She completed her undergraduate studies at Westmont in Santa Barbara, California. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology and after completing her degree, she headed a glaucoma research lab at the university for a year training 17 students in laboratory procedures. Amber spent the next year traveling around Central America, Australia, and New Zealand, where she fell in love with the Coromandel area, in particular Pauanui, it’s environment and lifestyle.

 Amber has been very active in the community and has organized the Pauanui Summer Series for 8 years, which included iconic events such as the Pauanui Triathlon, Waterways Duathlon, Miss Pauanui, and the King of the Mountain race. She is currently on the Experience Pauanui team, which focuses on promoting the local area and businesses.

Amber and her partner Matt Groube have two young daughters, Chloe (8) and Lola (5), who are both keen skaters and surfers like their father.  Matt is a local contractor in town and has lived in the area for over 40 years. Together they run a variety of businesses in NZ including the Pauanui Lodge, Groube Contracting, Pauanui Paintball, Gym Groube, and The NZ Natural Pet Food Co., just to name a few. 

Amber enjoys working with people and helping them to achieve their goals. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, reading, yoga, and surfing with her family.
