About Andrew Pugh
Doing up Houses
Andrew left massy with a dip hort and got a job with Keith Hay homes as one of their onsite decorators. that was a labour only position and he soon had 3 brush hands and a small decorating business. In the winter months Andrew would buy houses best described as bulldozer bait and smarten them up. it turned into a bit of a hobby and over the last 25 yrs. Andrew has owned and sold 23 properties.
Horticulture
In the mid-nineties, Andrew went in to business with his parents growing cut flowers in the Manawatu, originally focusing on exporting sandersonia and calla-lilies to Pacific rim countries. The strengthen of the New Zealand dollar meant that sales focus had to change, and with that the crops changed to lisianthus, Andrew can adapt and specialize in a very competitive Horticultural Market. Andrew became an expert in a relatively new specialized cut flower . At any one time the horticultural business could employ up to 20 staff
