Carl has spent the last thirteen years making wine in Martinborough where he was responsible for a fivefold increase in production at local winery, Murdoch James Estate. This whilst maintaining a focus on producing very labour-intensive, handmade wines.

He has won many accolades for his wine, both in New Zealand and overseas and has retained a track record of success while working as a wine consultant for other Wairarapa wineries. 

Also responsible for opening, developing and maintaining relationships in new wine markets such as the USA and China, Carl believes one of the most important keys to success is valuing people.

All these experiences have taught him the importance of attention to detail, open communication, clear and measurable goals and having a shared vision.

He really enjoys the excitement of real estate and bringing these key qualities and strengths to his work with the Bayleys team.
