About Dan Reed
It was 2008 when I began my real estate career. After 16 years of working in the Auckland market and a short stint in the Hauraki Plains, I’ve now moved my family to the Bay of plenty to be part of a community I have always loved.
My selling skills have benefited from working as an export agent between Japan and New Zealand. And buying and selling my own homes over the years has also taught me the importance of the role a salesperson plays when making such huge life decisions.
When communicating with clients, I relay information confidently and accurately, while providing detailed reports so there are no surprises. I stay in touch with a regularity to suit, and if there’s something I’m unsure of, I will find it out and come back with a clear directive.
With the years I have been in the industry I’ve certainly seen my share of bull and bear markets, so the ability to adapt and keep everything relevant is a skill I prioritise.
When dealing with buyers, you can never know what drives peoples’ decisions, so I treat everyone who walks through the door like they’ve won Lotto the night before and they’re ready to buy the house I’m marketing. That might sound a bit silly but it’s a great way to stay focused and treat everyone equally.
I keep up-to-date with the property market (so my clients don’t have to!), closely following local property listings, reading everything I can get my hands on, and talking to a wide range of people to garner their perspectives.
Outside of real estate, I dedicate as much time as I can to raising my 11-year-old son which often includes standing on the side of a sports field or court depending on the season. My accomplishments include being an Ironman athlete and competing for New Zealand at the Olympics distance and half ironman competitions. I now try to keep regular sessions in the swimming pool along with the odd run and bike ride. I dream of one day becoming a professional golfer even though I only play once a month. Dream on!

We highly recommend Dan if you want your home sold.
Dan was well informed and knowledgeable of the current trends that were occuring in the real estate market when he was working for us. Dan would give us feedback and constructive feed forward every week. This allowed us to achieve a successful sale.

"Dan and his team delivered an exceptional auction result for us. We tried to sell it privately at the beginning of the year for $900,000 and the purchaser pulled out. Dan recommended an auction with a comprehensive marketing plan. It was hard to see at the beginning given the market was slow, but we were very happy to have four bidders on the day. The surprising thing was, Dan managed to get the original purchasers to come to the auction and they bid up to $1,000,000 but they missed out to an out-of-town buyer at $1,010,000.
After a large marketing investment and Dan's well-earned fee, we were still $110,000 better off auctioning our property rather than selling privately. Great advice, great result and we will 100% be using Dan for any further residential sales we need in the area."
