Listening and getting to know the needs of people has been a consistent part of Derek’s career.

Trained as a medical scientist with roles in the management of hospital services, his commitment then was for people and the community, and this continues to drive him today.

Derek’s broad array of life and work experience combined with his knowledge and calm professional manner, allows him to serve clients on every level.

This may be as an advisor, guide, negotiator and most importantly communicator, to make each clients journey in real estate, successful, seamless and stress free.

Community involvement is important to Derek. He has been involved in coaching Bay of Plenty sport, Tauranga Repertory Theatre, and the Arts Council. He has just completed three years as crew on Coastguard TECT Rescue and is Chairman of the Tauranga Maritime Trust. Combining his extensive experience of health and business management, Derek recently stood for election to the District Health Board.

Derek’s core belief is that clients comes first above everything else.

He believes that “You can never promise your best and not follow through, if you expect to develop the trust and respect of a client".
