As Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Bayley Corporation, Duncan oversees the execution of Bayleys’ wider company operational and strategic activities, monitors productivity and results, and helps facilitate the “Altogether Better” philosophy that underpins Bayleys’ business throughout New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.

Duncan is a proven member of Bayleys’ senior management team having spearheaded the rural arm of the business from 2017 as National Director Rural, a role that he continued in conjunction with his COO position until January 2021. Under Duncan’s leadership, Bayleys completed rural sales in excess of $4.7 billion over the last three years reinforcing the company’s position as the number one rural real estate brand in New Zealand.

With his focus now solely on his role as COO, Duncan’s mandate is to boost productivity and continue to drive the growth of the Bayleys business.

Duncan brings almost 20 years’ experience in banking, finance, professional services, business advisory, turnaround management and corporate restructuring to the Bayleys table. This industry background includes a decade spent with KordaMentha in the wider agricultural and financial sectors.

As a chartered accountant and holding a Bachelor of Management Studies from Waikato University, Duncan’s professional affiliations include being a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia New Zealand (ICAANZ) and of Restructuring Insolvency Turnaround New Zealand (RITANZ).

A strategic thinker with astute problem-solving skills and an ability to see issues in a wider economic and business context, Duncan takes a hands-on approach to leadership in a team-driven environment where robust outcomes are expected.
