Hamish Lane
About Hamish Lane

Hamish has been hands-on in the agricultural sector for his whole career, gaining incredible depth of knowledge alongside an impeccable reputation for honesty and hard work. So when he turned his focus to rural real estate, this solid and wide-ranging experience saw him to rise to the top 5% of Bayleys salespeople nationwide, within just over two years.

His experience began straight after St Andrew's College, joining the then Stock and Station Division of Pyne Gould Guinness, working as a stock agent and looking after clients in the Fairlie and Mackenzie Basin. In 2002 he co-founded the livestock company Peter Walsh & Associates, spending 15 years there before beginning farming on his own account. Hamish now leases his farm out, to fully commit to his successful real estate career.

He now heads up Team Lane, based out of Bayleys Canterbury’s Timaru office and focusing on rural properties, from farming to residential to lifestyle.

Hamish’s auctioneering skills took him to many sale yards across Canterbury, as well as to on-farm sales and charity auctions. The result is that he is known and trusted across the South Island, with a contacts list built up of solid, years-long relationships. Hamish enjoys dealing with people from all walks of life. You can rest assured that when dealing with Hamish, you’re getting access to genuine knowledge, built up over years, of what makes rural places – and rural people – tick.

Hamish and his wife, Jo, have three daughters, now young adults. The family enjoys golf, shooting, travelling and going on excursions with their campervan. Hamish is a member of the Fairlie Lions and has served on a number of business and community focused boards.

Contact Hamish any time for a fully expert and confidential discussion.
