Ian’s experience in the property industry spans decades. His expertise, track record and reach throughout the industry are well known, as is his reputation for delivering better than expected results across all asset classes of commercial property.
Ian has been in real estate his whole professional life, from a young 19 year old starting leasing and selling small units on the North Shore, through to being recruited at 21 to a global real estate firm in industrial leasing. He then moved into sales on the city fringe and investment sales until becoming a director in their capital markets team.
Having joined Bayleys as a Director in the Investment sales team, Ian specialises in larger Auckland metropolitan assets, institutional grade investments and complex transactions as well as development sites in Auckland central.
His reputation has always been forged on building strong relationships and Ian is proud to serve an extensive list of long-term clients, many of whom he has assisted with their commercial property needs as they have grown from entry level to senior positions within their chosen fields. This has included brokering deals for multiple foreign governments, nearly all the listed property trusts and syndicates and, more recently, working extensively with companies establishing New Zealand’s build to rent sector.
Ian thoroughly enjoys the variety of people he has the privilege to work with, undertaking often-complex property transactions to produce an outstanding result. Carefully crafted campaigns and highly structured processes enable Ian to always find the best outcome for his client’s unique needs. As testament to his abilities, Ian is pleased to enjoy a great deal of repeat and referral business. His expertise sees him in demand assisting high net worth individuals, syndicators, developers, listed property trusts and foreign capital investors. Outside of work Ian likes to spend time at his holiday home in Raglan for surfing, golf, runs, tennis, and a few long lunches.
