Glass ceilings are a challenge for Jane and breaking through them almost habitual! Her latest achievement being to head up her own real estate business, of which she is also manager and salesperson - a unique position in the industry. Since gaining top scholastic honours, she has been continually placed in leadership roles, wearing the silver fern in her chosen sport of equestrian. She was tasked with establishing the INL Media Group (now Fairfax) direct marketing programme, which became an industry leader in the early 1990's, and during this time, she built up extensive experience in and knowledge of advertising and marketing. In 1997, Jane moved into real estate since when she has achieved a Graduate Diploma through Massey University, majoring in real estate, and gained her manager and AREINZ status. Now, she brings the sum of all that experience to bear for her company and its clients. She operates on an ethic of enthusiasm, honesty, knowledge of the area and outstanding hard work to bring Burmester Realty's clients a service second to none. Until a client is satisfied, neither is Jane. Setting high standards herself, she has gathered a team around her, from whom she expects similar qualities. Recently she has raised the bar by expanding the company's reach into the Waikato.

Away from work, Jane maintains her interest and involvement in equestrian sport, bringing on young show jumpers and co-owning international level horses in Europe, as well as supporting her husband Ray's burgeoning business in handcrafted gold and silver jewellery with an equestrian theme. The couple live on a lifestyle block with their horses, their dog and a cat with attitude - a bit like Jane herself!
