Joel comes to real estate from a 12-year rugby career including living in France (Top 14- Clermont), Japan (Top League) and other cities around New Zealand (NPC Canterbury, Crusaders and Southland rugby teams). Through this he grew his ability to perform under pressure and excel at a high level. He also has a business diploma and co-owns an online media business www.brightsidemedia.co.nz, which develops websites and guides businesses in their online presence. All of this valuable business and marketing knowledge informs his approach to real estate.

When handling his clients’ business portfolios, Joel understands the need for discretion. His aim is to be a trusted advisor, someone his clients can rely on for honest, up-to-date, accurate information. Outside of real estate Joel remains connected to the world of rugby and plays for the Sydenham Rugby Club team. Via involvement with the New Zealand Rugby Union he gives talks about mental health to other professional rugby teams around New Zealand. He has produced children’s books, and has already published one with others in the pipeline. He also enjoys camping, hanging out at the beach and going on hikes. A dedicated family man Joel loves spending time with his wife Sophie and their three children Pippa, Billy and George.
