- Kerry Markwick
Kerry’s family connection with Mangawhai dates back almost 100 years! His Great Grandmother lived in Moir Street in a cottage that still stands today and his Great Grandfather was a commercial fisherman based in the Mangawhai harbour. In the early 1920s Kerry’s mother lived in Mangawhai and her Stepfather delivered bread by horse and cart to the locals.
Kerry arrived in Mangawhai with his parents and older brother at just 10 months old when his parents purchased the General Store in the Village from his Aunt. His Father had to travel to Kaiwaka Railway Station 3 times a week to collect supplies! By the mid 1970’s they transferred the shop ownership to Kerry’s younger brother Barry, who eventually started the famous Bammas store. The shop had transformed by then into a new, bigger more modern Superette and is now part of the Village shops.
Kerry attended school in Mangawhai and high school in Wellsford. After having an extensive 30+ year career in Sales, including working for a corporate company in the capacity of Commercial Sales Manager in New Zealand and the Pacific, in 2014 Kerry decided it was time to get back to his roots and return home to Mangawhai.
His knowledge of the local area and the many changes he has witnessed over the years makes for some very interesting and informative chats! Having a comprehensive network is invaluable in real estate and this along with a healthy dose of hard-working ethic, has helped Kerry excel. During his 2 years as a real estate salesperson he has outshone the rest by earning 3 Sales Achievement Awards, no doubt testament to his honesty, market expertise and dedication. Keeping you informed every step of the way and leaving no stone unturned, Kerry Markwick will do his utmost to ensure you have a positive experience and a winning result.
