Coming from a family with an impressive portfolio of investment properties, Louis’ interest in Real Estate was piqued at an early age. Born in Ireland, he moved to Whangarei at 14 years of age where he attended school at Pompallier Catholic College. By the time he was 20 years old, Louis had qualified as a Real Estate sales person and went on to make his first sale the very same week he got his licence. He knows the Whangarei market like only a local can. When he’s not closing a deal, you can find Louis behind a musical instrument. His passion for music has seen him spend several years as a Clarinetist in the Whangarei Youth Orchestra, and more recently he is studying the Violin.

I am writing to congratulate you on your recruitment of Louis McDonald as a real estate agent representing your firm. He is doing you proud. Please congratulate him publicly. Our company has worked with several agents over the years, but none who managed things as adeptly as Louis- despite his youth! Recently we had the pleasure of listing our house with Louis- and we handed him a challenge- vendors who needed to sell in a very short space of time but not willing to compromise on sale price, vendors still owning the next door property so also wanting decent new owners who would keep the sitting tenants, tenants in place to keep happy who had previously had a bad experience with a house sale in a different address - and to have it all done and dusted at least a week before the tenants baby was due to be born! (in approx 6-7 weeks) Louis jumped into action immediately, and due to the tight time frame, did the first open home that same week (at our request), even before the pictures could go into the Property Guide. He contacted all his contacts and showed through a decent amount on the first week, and consistently thereafter, keeping us informed at each step. Due to the pressure of the constantly threatening birth, this sale had the potential to go completely pear-shaped if the buyer was not found before the birth of the baby, as I would not have been willing to have buyers traipse through the home with a new baby in the house, for the sake of my tenants. We would not have sold for a bad price, and the process would have had to be stopped in the middle until the family had time to settle into life with a new baby. Louis managed all the second-looks and viewings outside of open home with minimal disruption to a very pregnant and sensitive young mother and her family. I did not have one complaint from my tenant about him, but heard only praise for his willingness to listen- and of course his charm! Louis displayed both professionalism and sensitivity to both our needs, our tenants needs, and obviously the buyers needs to make it run as smoothly as it did. Towards the end of the month he suggested we drop our floor price a little, (due to market feedback), and reluctantly we did, but after observing his dedication to the task we trusted that he would do his utmost for us and sell it for what is was worth, seeing in it potential that we also saw. Some agents do lip service to the ‘multiple –offer situation’ but Louis nailed it, using the dropped floor price to re-engage buyers once more, and bring a bunch into a multiple offer situation where we were free to choose buyers who would keep our tenants in place- and for more than we realistically expected. There was even a cashout offer presented! So, please give Louis a great weekend by finishing off the week like this! We are sure that he will be in your winners circle over many years.
