Rachel brings to the Wairarapa a unique and eclectic range of skills. After graduating from university in Xian, China - Rachel worked for several years in Singapore. After her stint in Singapore, Rachel caught the entrepreneurial wave during China’s “opening up” in the early 1990’s and beyond. - Having owned one of southern China’s first Italian restaurant’s –Rachel took this experience and its success to open a succession of restaurants and business’s in China, Australia and New Zealand. Rachel had a significant newspaper article written about her-in English-in Hong Kong –referencing her as one of the new wave of young entrepreneurs in China. These included Spanish and French restaurants; a successful serviced apartment business (30 rooms) as well as a 50% share in a 60-room hotel and a significant manufacturing business (supplying Phillips lighting amongst other notable customers) This has given Rachel a unique and detailed understanding of the business of international customer relations as well as insight into the importance of local knowledge and marketing! In more recent years Rachel and her husband have lived and worked in Auckland, Australia, Dubai and China- buying (and selling) properties in each of these locations) Rachel’s property in Dubai –was showcased in the “home & Garden” style-decorating magazine of the United Arab Emirates. In the past 5 years Rachel and her family have lived and worked in the Wairarapa (her children go to school at Solway college) and has renovated more than 3 properties –this has given Rachel first hand knowledge of the trials and tribulations of not only finding good properties-but also recognizing the inherent potential of all properties in the Wairarapa. Rachel brings to the renown real estate brand Harcourts-an immense wealth of skills and knowledge to help her clients present and market their properties to both the local, national and international markets-and will certainly bring an outstanding customer service ethos and tireless energy to the property market in the Wairarapa.
