Oamaru born and bred, the son of a builder, I grew up working on local farms before serving six years in the New Zealand Army and seventeen years in the New Zealand Police. This service background is instrumental to my success in real estate. My favourite quote is from Douglas Adams: “To give real service, you must add something which cannot be bought or measured with money, and that is sincerity and integrity.” In my seven years of real estate, this has been my touchstone. That’s where my business experience comes in. Setting up an international fashion brand was the best school imaginable for developing skills in negotiation and marketing. On the home front, I’ve renovated houses, built a new home and own and manage an investment property. As a property auctioneer, I enjoy bringing down the gavel on property sales as well as utilising these skills to raise money for various worthy causes through charity auctions.
