Following a highly successful career in the entertainment industry spanning 25 years, Shane Cortese has entered a new phase of his life as a real estate consultant, selling in the central suburbs. With a multitude of television, film, theatre and music credits to his name, Shane is one of New Zealand’s most recognisable faces. He has appeared in some of the UK’s most famous theatres including on the West End and he has played some of the most memorable characters on our screens.
Over the past three years, international opportunities, have enticed Shane far from these shores. A chance conversation with his friend Chris Jones, the Business Development Manager for New Zealand Sotheby’s International Realty, led him to make this pivotal decision which gives him the stability of a base in New Zealand so he can spend more time with his wife and two children. Skyping your children from afar is no longer fun, he concedes.
He has worked extremely hard to achieve what he has and demonstrated a huge commitment to the industry he loves. Now he intends to dedicate his efforts to his real estate clients, bringing them the trust, privacy, integrity and energy for which is renowned. Again, success will be built on hard work and forging personal relationships. He thrives on the chemistry that happens when you make strong personal connections.
Contracts and selling have been a constant in Shane’s life. Having had to live on his wits and strike frequent deals in a notoriously tough industry throughout the years, he is a skillful negotiator, well-acquainted with the intricacies of when and how hard to push for the best outcome.
Over the last seven years, in association with his stage and screen work, he has owned and operated the New Zealand Franchise of ICMI Speakers and Entertainers, negotiating the terms of high profile public speakers for conferences.
Real estate in the central suburbs of Herne Bay and Takapuna is a natural fit for Shane. He has lived in, owned and renovated homes in these areas - so he is very familiar with the amenities and what attracts people here.
