About Simon Clinton-Baker

The Wairarapa is a region Simon knows well, having been born and bred on a family sheep and beef farm in Gladstone. He is excited at the opportunity to base his business in an area where he has a strong connection.

After completing a Bachelor of Commerce & Agriculture degree at Lincoln University, Simon worked in Taranaki for five years as a rural banker before heading to the United Kingdom on an OE for two years. He moved back to the Wairarapa in 2017 and stepped back into rural banking. This role has helped Simon establish strong relationships within farm businesses across the region.

Rural banking has also provided Simon with an in-depth understanding of a variety of rural businesses and the people that operate them. Simon loves getting to know farmers and their land and helping them realise their future ambitions.

Simon and his wife Lauren have recently taken over the lease of the family farm which has solidified his passion for the land and contribution to the rural sector.

The Bayleys brand attracted Simon through their clear commitment to rural New Zealand and protecting its future. Simon looks forward to continuing to support farm owners achieve their goals and will go above and beyond to make that happen.
