My family moved to New Zealand from Ethiopia when I was a child. We fell in love with New Zealand and chose to make Wellington our home. My schooling was in Wellington. I was a prefect at Saint Patrick’s College. For many years I have been involved in sports including harriers, football, and basketball, as a player, coach, and in administrative roles. Over the last nine years as a sports team leader, I successfully organised and managed numerous projects such as youth football and basketball tournaments. This role provided me with excellent problem-solving and people skills while allowing me to build a wide-ranging network of community contacts throughout the Wellington region. Being fluent in English and Amharic, my ethnic background and my strong community orientation has seen me work closely with groups of differing cultures and backgrounds. This has enabled me to both empathise with the cultural needs of others while providing informed advice, guidance, and support. Real estate has always been a passion of mine.
