The Rangitahi Project is an incredible vision created by an extraordinary family.
The Peacockes have been farming land here in Raglan, an iconic seaside community for more than 30 years.
They are not only top farmers, but also extremely keen nature enthusiasts. All of the members of the Peacocke family have a great passion for protecting the ecological values of the land through extensive planting of native flora and fauna. As a result, the birdlife on the peninsula is abundant and thriving.
The Peacocke family absolutely love Raglan and are dedicated to preserving its dynamic and diverse culture.
The Rangitahi Project aims to provide land for those wanting to join this laid-back seaside community, to build their own dreams, and to create a life that promises beauty and simplicity.
The vision for diversity.
The tranquil harbour estuary, which reaches out to the Tasman Sea, surrounds the peninsula, and the diversity of sections available will suit both permanent residents and weekend holiday makers.
“We are looking for interesting types of buildings, so that the environment is diverse, just like the people of Raglan”
We want to attract a range of architecture that respects the natural surroundings, anything from 1-2 bedroom houses to larger family homes. The people living here on Rangitahi will be keen on the outdoors and enjoy being part of a creative community. They could be from NZ or from overseas.
There is great opportunity to practise sustainable living on Rangitahi: you could have a bigger piece of land to grow your own produce, or just choose a low maintenance property protected by our much loved kiwi native bush and of course, the tuis.”
