If the South Island hosted the coldest places to be last month it’s a no brainer that the warmest places to be were in the north.
Cape Reinga in the Far North fetched an average mean temperature of 13.6 degrees compared to the coldest of Tara Hills in the deep South which averaged 2.9 degrees. Niwa figures show the next warmest spot was the coastal community of Leigh an hour-and-a-bit’s drive north of Auckland.
