It was the best house on the block, but didn’t actually make it into The Block season two.
But now the house, which last sold in August 2015, is back on the market.
After filming of the Belmont-based season finished in 2013, a corner 451 sq m site was turned over to an architecturally designed town house. The property has an RV of $1.5 m and is being marketed by Ian Watson of Arizto for price by negotiation.

“The windows, door, lights, shadows, angles have all been well thought out, and the effect is amazing,” says Watson.
“The result is an amazing home with interesting spaces and angles that will keep you intrigued. The angles are bold and unexpected.”
The developers spared no expense on the three bedroom, two level house, combining striking polished concrete floors, full height windows and a striking two-room kitchen.
There’s a stainless steel show kitchen, complete with mega-french door fridge, wine fridge, and island bench with sink and cooker wrapped in a generous dining table bar. Behind, is a walk in scullery with a second cooker, sink and dishwasher, this time in a warm wood and live-edge open shelving.
More wood is repeated in the vertical Siberian larch cladding, which is paired with steel for more industrial vibe. There are imported light fittings – blown glass in the kitchen, faux antlers in the sitting room and a steel chandelier in the stairwell.
The bathrooms are spectacular, one in white tile, the other in black with ahead of its time pewter trims.
The house is cleverly sited on the plot, creating three distinct zones – a sunny entertaining deck, a charming spa area surrounded by tropical planting and a gravel utility space for clothes line. It is tucked in between the bungalows renovated for the series, but totally private.
For buyers who love the neighbourhood near St Leonards Bay, between Takapuna and Stanley Point, and within easy walking distance of schools this sure is the best house on the block.
