If your holiday home budget barely extends past $200,000 then this generous piece of Southern beauty neighbouring with Paparoa National Park is the definition of less is more.

The well-hidden West Coast hut is the ultimate off-grid escape where you'll be waking up to the sound of waves, birds singing and not your phone buzzing. It is asking $210,000. It's 40 minutes from Westport, 53 minutes from Greymouth and a lifetime away from the big city stress.

Westport Property Brokers agents Charlie Elley and Willie McLaughlin call it one of the best kept secrets of the Coast Road, and reckon it would suitable for an artist, author or naturalist.

Hidden at the bottom of Kapakati Point Rd this 5922sq m property is surrounded by native bush, waterfalls and mountains, and the majestic, massive scenery that only the Coast can provide.

The seaside bach, tucked in the bush, is a removable container with bed and small kitchen. There's a gas heated shower and a chemical toilet, as well as a lockable unit for toys and storage which has a small solar panel hooked up to it.

The hut has two windows facing the beach and a sliding front door that opens up to the wooden deck which lets you enjoy the view to the fullest.

“This is something special and the lucky buyer will be smiling for a long, long time yet.”

The 9 Adamson Road, Taipa designer house has four bedrooms, five bathrooms and garaging for six cars (with a workshop space and room for a few beach toys, and more garaging for up to eight more cars). Arcline Architecture created a house with plenty of flexibility.

What can be better than a house literally steps away from the north-facing sands of Langs Beach?

The Bayleys agent marketing the property at 1232 Cove Road, Christine Birss, has the right philosophy.

"Don't let life be too complicated," she says. "Sometimes we need to remember we're human beings, not human doings."

The bach was only recently renovated and extended to include not only three bedrooms, one the master with en-suite bathroom, but also a living big enough for a crowd on extra mattresses and air beds.

The bach is across the road from the beach, surrounded by pohutakawa trees, with rock pools at one end and with the hills behind.

The owners added covered deck across the front of the house for a sheltered area to soak up the views on hot days, or shelter from Auckland's variable summer weather.

The bach has a generous open plan kitchen with plenty of storage space, and there's an extra-long carport for the beach toys. For evenings, there's a spa pool that also gets those ocean views.

Birss says the owner will enjoy the simple pleasures of relaxing, swimming, surfing and relaxing.

"Twigs, shells and most importantly sand plus water - lots of it. All the life ingredients to create harmony, plus many happy memories," she says.
