The listing ad said the vendor wanted it sold yesterday. It sold today at auction for $1.888 million.
The elevated four-bedroom villa at 6 Stanmore Road, in Grey Lynn, Auckland, was one of the few remaining undeveloped properties on the popular street.
The vendor purchased the property 45 years ago for under $100,000 and then transferred it into a trust in 1988 for $138,000, so today's sale was a huge gain.
Barfoot and Thompson agents Repeka Lelaulu and John Elgar, who brought the property to market just two weeks ago, say the price was good for a Grey Lynn do-up.

“It was a young couple who bought [it] and the listing attracted so many genuine families who wanted to live in the area,” Lelaulu told OneRoof.
More than 80 groups, mainly families, attended the open homes during the short time it was on the market.
The owner, who had been renting it, was ready to sell and retire, Lelaulu says.
The opening bid was $1.5 million, and climbed steadily to $1.865 million before two bidders tussled it out during the final, long stretch to the final sale price.
The 2017 council valuation for the property is $1.775 million, mostly for the 522sqm of land it holds.
6 Stanmore Road is one of several do-up villas to fetch big prices in the last month.
A classic fixer-upper nearby recently sold under the hammer for $1.53 million after a pre-auction offer was made. The two-bedroom 100-year-old villa at 40 Dryden Street was marketed by UP agents Jennifer Temm Munns and David Simons.
A run-down villa at 20 Douglas Road in Mount Eden sold for more than $1.5 million and a 100-year-old do-up villa went for $1.14 million, in the nearby suburb of Kingsland.
