Bayleys agent Gary Wallace said enquiry for the home had been light but a buyer had been found. However, the house “is not under contract yet”.

“It’s a fantastic family home, a solid design. It will find a buyer who is accepting of [what happened] and is looking forward."

The multimillion-dollar home on Upland Road, in Remuera, was listed for sale last month, nearly five months after Hanna’s husband, Philip Polkinghorne, was found not guilty of murdering her.

Hanna, 63, was found dead on Easter Monday of 2021 at the Remuera home she shared with her husband.

The property is on the market with a set sale date of March 20.

The New Zealand Herald reported in February that Polkinghorne transferred ownership of the property to his sister at the end of last year.

The retired eye surgeon told the Herald he no longer lived at the house and that he was “looking forward to the future”.

“Where I have moved to is my personal business,” he said.

The Upland Road property, which has an RV of $6.2 million, has been listed twice before by Polkinghorne – first in July 2021 with Ray White and then again in 2022 with New Zealand Sotheby’s International Realty. On both occasions, the property was withdrawn from sale after several months on the market.

Wallace, who regularly deals with high-end properties in the Remuera area, previously told OneRoof that he was not “disregarding” the house’s past, but his listing was there to highlight the positives.

“We know that there has been a death in the house. It is unfortunate and we’re very respectful of that,” he said last month.

Wallace had said in February there would be no open homes for the property, and that he would only show it to qualified buyers. “We don’t want to get in the way of price. I can simply say that we have a motivated vendor who would like to see the home go to the next buyer.”

Wallace noted that Polkinghorne was no longer on the title and that his client was Polkinghorne’s sister.

Hanna was the executive project director at the Counties Manukau District Health Board and an executive responsible for the Covid-19 response at procurement company Healthsource.

Polkinghorne was charged with her murder in 2022, but a jury found him not guilty of the charge after an eight-week trial in 2024.
