The duo are marketing a sprawling seven-bedroom home in Rolleston, and their zinger takes full advantage of the space that’s up for grabs: “Can’t find my husband!”
“With over 411sqm of main house space, an indoor heated pool, and a massive garage, our seller keeps losing her husband! What started as a dream home has turned into a hide-and-seek championship, and they’re officially retiring from the game. It’s time to downsize, and 29 Waterbridge Way must go!”

Michelle knows the home well; her niece is the vendor. She told OneRoof that when she took on the listing, she was worried potential buyers would lose themselves or family members during the open homes.
It happens more often than you. “At the open homes, I’ve got people who come up to me and say, ‘I’ve lost my kids. I can’t find them’.” That’s why she chose the eye-grabbing tagline for 29 Waterbridge Way.
“We’ve told people when they arrive, ‘Please check out as you go, because we want to make sure that you’ve taken your whole party with you’.”

The agent nearly runs out of breath listing all of the property’s features. The kitchen is huge, with the scullery the size of most normal kitchens. “The kitchen is a chef’s dream. It has a bench that’s just over five metres long,” she told OneRoof.
“It’s got a massive garage, so husbands will be delighted with the amount of tinkering they can do. There’s also a carport to store all the toys, the jet skis and trailers and everything else.”
For pet lovers, there’s also a dog shower in the main house.
Michelle’s niece, Natasha Smith, jokes that sometimes she hasn’t been able to find her husband Jason over the 25 years they lived at the house. Their children and grandchildren have often gone walkabouts as well.

“The kids love it because there’s plenty of space to hide and seek.”
Natasha told OneRoof that the home has bulked up over the years. Whenever the family needed more space, builder Jason would make the adjustments. “What started out as a small family home grew and grew to its needs and wants, pretty much,” she said.
As it grew, so too did the Smiths’ ability to entertain. Friends and family from around the country called the home their holiday home, or home away from home. “There have been so many milestone celebrations held here, I can’t even count how many. But it’s because it literally has a hub, and it’s that centre,” Natasha said.
“We’ve got grandchildren, nieces and nephews, older friends, people from all around New Zealand who come and stay with us. There’s plenty of space for them.”
Natasha said the couple were selling to buy a smaller home with more land. “The grandkids are all growing up now. The youngest one is 10. We’re still cool at the moment, but we’re not far off not being cool.”
