Armed with inspiration from a South African beach house, and not afraid of undertaking an ambitious new build, Terriann and her husband set about designing their masterful home on the site of 75 Twin Springs Drive, Woodhill, completed three years ago.
They had a committed and skilled builder in Allan Wallace and his ‘dream team’, who delivered the couple their dream home and subsequent plaudits, winning gold regionally in the Master Builders’ House of the Year in 2020.
“We wanted a spacious home all on one level, easy to live in and built for entertaining. It had to be airy, light and bright,” Terriann explains.
While the exterior and proportions of the home are undeniably modern, Terriann’s talent for sourcing character pieces and her European influences are evident.

Reclaimed stained glass windows, Artdedomus Versailles wooden tiles and solid oak flooring contrast with crisp white walls set in lofty and open spaces throughout.
Superior materials and fittings elevate the home to an extraordinary standard. Terriann admits they went well over budget, but they were steadfast in their desire to have everything to the highest spec, and it shows.
Central to the home is the extensive kitchen and living area.
High raked ceilings, a sizable shaker-style traditional kitchen with scullery, and wood burning fireplace feature in an expansive space, off which a separate den offers a cozy snug, perfect as a media room.

From here, the outdoor entertaining area flows - laid with premium tiles and with immediate views to Terriann’s skillfully curated garden, heated swimming pool and out to the pastoral beauty of the property’s lush surrounds.
“Everywhere is my favourite part of the home, everything has its own charm, but the garden is my haven, it’s a truly soul nurturing place,” Terriann says.
A keen gardener, a knack she says she inherited from her parents, Terriann has developed the garden from scratch with love and a lot of toil to its splendid form.

Here you’ll find a large comforting space with walk-in wardrobe, ensuite and separate office accessed up a private stairwell.
Marketing the 4.5-hectare property are Barfoot and Thompson’s Anik Arundel and Sharon Kenny.
Arundel says, “it really feels that once you are entering through the gates you are arriving at a retreat.
“What I love is how peaceful it is. There are fantastic views from almost all the rooms in the house. The covered outdoor dining space overlooking the pool is the perfect entertaining spot year-round.”

Enclosed by fenced paddocks, with well-appointed stables, a tack room, three-car garage and a three-bay workshop, the property is the pinnacle of the working lifestyle retreat.
It’s little wonder why Terriann holds such affection for the entirety of the property, and certainly why buyers will be equally captivated by its all-encompassing appeal.
