Behind a precisely maintained and restored Edwardian facade, 51 Albert promises a new class of sumptuous inner-city living.
Auckland’s newest 41-level skyscraper, positioned between Albert Street and St Patrick’s Square in the CBD, will be home to what Sotheby’s Realty describes as ”sky residences”.
Conceived by architects Scott Carver and constructed by Icon, the apartments are due for completion in late 2023/early 2024.
Two of the 30 apartments, the penthouse and sub penthouse, will be the zenith of Auckland’s most striking new residential tower, with far-reaching harbour and city views.

“On levels 40 and 41, they will offer stunning 360-degree panoramic views of the city, harbour and beyond. And plans have just been conceived for a super-penthouse option for both floors to be combined into one palatial residence,” says New Zealand Sotheby’s International Realty agent Jason Gaddes, who is marketing the properties.

Merging the two apartments will create room for a home theatre, sauna and more that Gaddes anticipates will present heightened potential to buyers.
“Having sold many of Auckland’s high-end new-build apartments over recent years and taking nothing away from those properties, I think the two penthouse floors available at 51 Albert really will be raising the bar to a new level,” Gaddes says.
Priced from $11 million, each apartment includes three bedrooms, three bathrooms, wrapped by floor to ceiling windows and an open-plan layout, flooded in natural light.
The design incorporates living areas laid with hardwood parquet floors, set in herringbone formation – a portion of the ageless elements and traditional touches that marry the apartments’ highest quality contemporary fittings.
Natural stone and superior Miele appliances in the kitchens forge the homes’ unsurpassed elegance, he says.

Each bedroom has its own ensuite bathroom, each spacious, with floor-to-ceiling stone, twin basins and premium designer tapware.
Full-service apartment buildings are commonplace in Australia, London and Asia, and are envisaged to be in more and more demand here, Gaddes says.
As the established and well-travelled buyers drive demand for comprehensive residential alternatives, 51 Albert has swiftly gained a reputation as a sought-after address.
Valet parking, a concierge, an onsite gym and wellness centre are a few of the services offered to residents.
The building will be home to Intercontinental Hotel Group’s Indigo hotel, set to include a restaurant, lounge bar, streetside cafe and ground level wine bar.
In the centre of revitalising Albert Street, 51 Albert’s position delivers the city’s bars, restaurants, entertainment and shopping within quick reach. The City Rail link, when completed, will extend better transport options to residents.
“With 23 of just 30 apartments already sold, interest is high from buyers who are looking for the pinnacle in quality, location and exclusivity that 51 Albert offers,” Gaddes says.
