A boutique hotel in picturesque Ohakune, at the southern gateway to the World Heritage Tongariro National Park in the central North Island, is on the market.
The area is a key tourist destination, attracting consistent domestic and international tourist visitors.
Tussock Grove Boutique Hotel offers views of Mt Ruapehu from many of the rooms and is within walking distance to transport hubs, restaurants, retail entertainment venues and popular attractions, and caters to both the corporate market and leisure travellers.
Set up around 17 years ago and developed into an eight suite lodge, the hotel has a central guest lounge and open fire adjacent to a well-equipped kitchen.

“The entrance sets the scene for guests with office and reception set off to one side and views through to the guest lounge,” says Lindsay Sandes from Link Business Broking.
Immediately behind the reception area is a spare double room and en suite that can be used by relief managers or the owners.
With long term growth and changing markets in mind, the owners provided for the option of catering and meals by including a modern, well-appointed kitchen next to the dining room and guest lounge.
The relaxing guest lounge and open fireplace provides guests comfort and the opportunity to gather and share stories, and enjoy a beverage or two, around the fire (alcohol licences would need to be applied for).
The lounge is a gathering point for guests, and they can also unwind and recharge in the private spa and sauna.
The eight guest rooms range from the executive king room, a larger two-storey room, and the two-storey executive queen room through to one and two bedroom suites.
Some rooms have mountain views and some have garden views. All the rooms are well-equipped with en suite bathrooms, comfortable lounge areas, and tea and coffee making facilities.
The hotel’s location, only 1km from the Ohakune township, is perfect for people wanting to explore the region.
The hotel has pleasant, park-like surroundings close to the World Heritage Tongariro National Park, and the Turoa Skifield on Mt Ruapehu encourages repeat guest stays.
“Whether hitting the slopes in winter or exploring the many mountain biking or walking tracks in summer, there is something for everyone.”
There is also a two bedroom, two bathroom fully fenced chalet set back from the main road with views of Mt Ruapehu and while intended for owner accommodation it can be used for guests as required.
The owners also protected the open space surrounding the lodge by purchasing three vacant sections - however, there is an option to buy the lodge without the chalet and sections.
