A West Auckland real estate agent will give the lucky new owner of his investment property in Massey an all-expenses-paid trip to Fiji.
Ronald Hachache thinks first-time home buyers will snap up his two-bedroom home at 2 Bellringer Road. He also reckons they’ll need a break.
Hachache, who owns the Ray White North West franchise, told OneRoof: “We know it’s a stressful process, the stress first-home buyers are under when they buy, so we thought the perfect reward for them was a holiday.”
The agent had originally bought the cross-lease property seven years ago for his dad to live in. Two years ago, he bought his dad another home closer to his Lebanese church community in South Auckland, so the Bellringer Road property was rented out.

However, this year he decided to sell up, and after spending $50,000 on renovations, he put the house on the market.

Hachache’s holiday offer includes airfares and accommodation at a resort on Denarau Island, in Nadi, Fiji, any time between October and the end of the year. He believes it will give his property an edge in a still-crowded market.
“We want to stand out in a market, which sure has a lot of stock – probably 40% more than usual,” he said.
He’s also banking on a pick-up in buyer mood. His agents have reported more positivity in the market since early July, with buyers starting to warm to expert commentary that drops in interest rates are imminent.
He’ll be hoping to ape the success his agents enjoyed last week.
Amanda Fryer and Sam Woods had four offers in the first weekend of showings for a three-bedroom 1960s home on Glendene Avenue, in Glendene. The property, which had a CV of $1.1 million, attracted offers of between $883,000 and $935,000 and was under contract by the end of the weekend.
The tidy home, on the market for the first time since it was built in 1966, had a smart kitchen and butler’s panty, two living areas, garaging and a workshop, and multiple outdoor living spaces.
“Most of these buyers have been in the market three or four months. I think people have started to realise the market has bottomed out and it can only go one way from here, it’s not going south,” Hachache said.
Hachache’s own property has a CV of $720,000, but he said entry-level homes in Massey ranged in price from $650,000 to $900,000.
