VanLab is the brainchild of Dr Andy Jones, who has a PhD in aeronautical engineering and a passion for great design using modern techniques.
It was born out of the frustration of trying buy a good, clean campervan with low mileage for a reasonable price.
This proved virtually impossible so over a three-week period he built a campervan that received compliments wherever he went around New Zealand.
From this the flatpack design was born. Jones has now designed and has ownership IP on 19 digital designs of popular models sold in New Zealand and Australia. These are made by contract manufacturers and can be produced on CNC machines worldwide.

He has developed an ongoing relationship with a vehicle manufacturer, and this continues to grow.
This is an extremely well put together business with established web-based inventory, quoting and purchasing systems in place.
It has 100 per cent 5-star reviews with over 6000 social media followers, is certified “Buy NZ Made” and VanLab is a trademarked brand. It comes with extremely low overheads, no staff and is making a healthy profit in its first full year of trade – and, as we are all too aware, this was a Covid-19 year with an unprecedented downturn in tourism.
Jones has already been approached from Australian companies looking for distribution opportunities.
The cream on top is that Jones has started to rent out one van and this is proving very popular and profitable. An entrepreneur will be able to develop this side of the business with a fleet of van rentals.
Jones has other ideas, so after setting this up, he now has a new project which means VanLab must go.
If you can recognise a business that has huge scope for growth and is ready to be taken to the next level with sales and marketing skills, Van Lab is well worth a look.
