Fifteen years is a very long time to create fond family memories. When Rebecca and Stu bought 4 Lagoon Way in Omaha, Rodney back in 2007, only one of their two children was earthside.
But over the years, and as their family grew, their absolute beachfront holiday home has almost become another member of the family.
“Omaha is our happy place, and over the years we’ve created some incredible memories with our family and friends,” says Rebecca. “When we bought the property our oldest was only a few months old, so it’s been really cool for the kids to essentially grow up here and enjoy that really Kiwiana way of live right beside the sea.”
4 Lagoon Way in Omaha has a 2021 RV of $5.2 million and is on the market for sale by negotiation. According to OneRoof records, the property changed hands in December 2008 for $2.17m and again in October 2020 for $4.8m.

Bayleys agent Kellie Bissett, who is marketing the property with Peter Tanner, says: “Strong form, striking lines, a spacious layout and exceptional light play beautifully with the healthy sea air and sparkling ocean views that stretch the length of Omaha Beach.”
Nestled on the dunes and enjoying magnificent views out to Ti Point, Tāwharanui, and Great Barrier Island, 4 Lagoon Way really is something special.
The view simply can’t be fully appreciated until it’s been experienced first-hand.
The main living spaces are located upstairs, which means family and guests can truly embrace the breathtaking view out across the ocean.
“It feels very isolated and private up there. When you look out, all you see is dunes and greenery, and then it’s just blue, blue, blue. There’s a real sense of not having a neighbour ... in fact, sometimes we may have been too loud, forgetting that we do actually have neighbours.”
Oodles of glass give the home a light, bright, breezy feel, while multiple living spaces means there’s room for everyone.
“I’ll miss the master suite dreadfully because it’s a real retreat away from the rest of the house,” says Rebecca. “We set up downstairs as a kids’ zone, so we can escape upstairs to read a book and embrace the magnificent view.”
Omaha’s proximity to Auckland has meant Rebecca, Stu and the kids, now aged 13 and 15, have popped up to their holiday home virtually every weekend, taking Milky the dog and Lulu the cat with them every time.
“We scoot up there most weekends around the kids’ sports so even if we’re only there for one night we always come home feeling like we’ve just been on holiday,” says Rebecca. “Our fur babies love heading up there too; when we’re packing it’s almost like they’re like, ‘Yay! We’re going to Omaha too’.”
For Rebecca and Stu, moving on from 4 Lagoon Way is only the beginning of their love affair with Omaha.
“We wouldn’t be without our life in Omaha,” says Rebecca. “Eventually, once the kids have moved on, I’m sure we’ll retire up here. But it’s time to move on and let another family fall in love with this home and this place as much as we have.”
