Construction has commenced on what will become one of Auckland’s most prestigious residential buildings.
Developed by Precinct Properties in partnership with Icon Developments and designed by acclaimed architects Monk Mackenzie, the exclusive York House in Parnell will double as a luxury residence and a work of art.
Renders show the building wrapped in a gently curved, pleated charcoal concrete façade that speaks to both the textile history of Parnell and the surrounding volcanic environment. The solid concrete exterior is softened by lush greenery, while glass balustrades accommodate elevated, uninterrupted views towards Rangitoto Island, the Waitematā Harbour, and Auckland City.
Featuring four levels of apartments, two levels of penthouses, and two levels of secure basement parking, York House has been designed with luxury professional living in mind.

The interiors of every home have been designed by Amelia Holmes, one of the country’s most sought-after interior designers and stylists. Designer kitchens are high spec, while living spaces are airy and open and seamlessly blend with balcony living.
On the penthouse levels, some outdoor terraces are as large as 130 square metres.
Andrew Lamont, GM Residential at Precinct Properties, is excited to announce that construction of York House is now underway, led by premier building company Kalmar Construction.
“Kalmar Construction is one of the best building companies in the country, and their reputation goes before them,” says Andrew.
“They’ve already completed two projects with Precinct, they’ve just completed the first stages of Parnell’s Foundation retirement complex, and they’re constructing our Fabric 2 development. Kalmar is a high-quality residential builder and we’re looking forward to them completing York House in late-2026.”
Icon Developments, a subsidiary of its parent company, Tokyo-based listed construction and real estate development giant Kajima Corporation, is the main financier of the York House project. Precinct Properties is also NZX-listed.
“Together, we’re a very strong and financially stable team which offers a lot of reassurance to prospective buyers.”
Featuring three frontages on York, Bradford and Earles streets, York House has been designed to maximise light, space and views.
“Some buyers often worry about being built out, but York House has protected views out towards Rangitoto and beyond, giving them certainty about the future.”
York House is positioned in the heart of Parnell, one of Auckland’s most established, high-value suburbs. Parnell Road and its esteemed wining, dining and shopping attractions are a short walk away.
The nearby 75-hectare Auckland Domain is perfect for languid strolls to Newmarket or the city, while motorway access in all directions is a short drive away.
Colliers residential projects associate director Juliet Lichtenstein says York House will appeal to anyone looking for unparalleled luxury living in one of the best parts of Auckland.
“The people who choose to call York House home will live a premium lifestyle, both in terms of what the boutique building offers and the location,” she says.
“Colliers is proud to work alongside Precinct and Icon Developments to introduce York House.”
Thirty-six apartments and eight penthouses are available for sale now. Construction has commenced and is expected to be complete in late-2026. The residences come in configurations of 1-3 bedrooms, 1-3 bathrooms with 1-4 car parks. Apartments are priced from $1.24 million and penthouses from $4.2m.
