Waiata Shores may not yet have the same name recognition which long-established suburbs enjoy but there are great reasons those wanting to get into a new home should investigate this new suburb in Conifer Grove.

That’s the opinion of Wayne Taylor, Fletcher Living’s Branch Manager.

He explains new homes are consistently being completed and offered for sale in the locale, which is one of Auckland’s newest suburbs. It was master planned from scratch after Fletcher Living bought the 47-hectare former site of the Manukau Golf Course and supported the development of their new course: Windross Farm.

Wayne says: “The great thing about a master planned community like Waiata Shores is the forethought that has been put into exactly what residents living there will need.

“We’re half-way through delivering the 700 homes which will ultimately be in Waiata Shores and already there’s a wonderful community feel.

“It has a very family friendly vibe, a good range of terrace and standalone homes available and everything you could want is within walking distance.”

This includes pocket parks and wetlands throughout the community. The main community hub lies around a colourful playground next to the popular Songbird Café.

“It would have to be one of the best playgrounds in South Auckland,” Wayne says.

Within the neighbourhood, the childcare centre BestStart is fully operational and the new Countdown Waiata Shores opened earlier this year, with community-focussed tenancies, including a medical centre, opening soon.

Waiata Shores sits between Takanini and Manurewa, beside the Pāhurehure Inlet which runs off the Manukau Harbour. Cycle and walkways follow the Papakura Stream down to the inlet and link through to the neighbouring Conifer Grove Path providing an extended waterway exercise route for families to enjoy.

There’s good public transport in the area including buses and Te Mahia train station off Great South Road within walking distance.

Wayne says a range of three and four-bedroom terrace homes overlooking the reserve have just been released for sale and there are three-to-five-bedroom stand-alone homes also available to purchase.

Unlike developers who sell off the plans, Fletcher Living’s preference is to sell fully completed, landscaped homes, so buyers can see exactly what they are getting.

Homes are built in a variety of configurations and materials to suit all buyers. Some contain additional living rooms and others offer two master suites catering for inter-generational families wanting to live together.

Fletcher Living Sales Manager Tanya Dear says: “We have some fantastic homes at Waiata Shores available to purchase right now and over the course of the next year we think we’ve got a home to suit just about everyone!”

The Waiata Shores sales suite is located at 1 Gosper Road.

Prospective buyers can make an appointment to meet a Fletcher Living New Home Consultant there, who’ll take them on a tour of the neighbourhood and talk to them homes currently available to purchase and those coming soon.
