Experienced Northland real estate professional Megan McGregor has joined Colliers Whangārei as the organisation builds its presence in one of the country’s rapidly growing regions.
Having worked in the property sector for nearly a decade, McGregor, born-and-bred in Whangārei, brings an extensive amount of local knowledge to the table.
McGregor has a proven track record in the area, including completing a selection of deals in the high-profile mixed-use development of Port Nikau.
“I am excited about the opportunity to collaborate with some highly experienced team members from across the Colliers network to ensure we can provide our clients with the best service and sales and leasing opportunities in the Northland region,” McGregor says.

The Government has announced a string of roading and infrastructure projects that will benefit Northland and will be advanced under the fast-track legislation.
These include the expansion of Northport and interlinked road and rail projects that have been designed to open up the area’s economic capabilities.
The Whangārei district continues to be an attractive location for people to relocate to while the population grew by 6.3 per cent between 2018 and 2023 according to data from the most recent Census.
“There is strong demand for industrial land in Whangārei, which remains at a premium,” McGregor says.
“Given the city is only two hours from Auckland, it offers convenient connectivity and there is considerable growth potential, so the future is very bright.”
Before getting into the property industry, McGregor worked in accounting roles, including for a private art gallery in the UK.
She holds a Bachelor of Biomedical Science majoring in Pathology and Genetics from Victoria University of Wellington and a Bachelor of Business Studies majoring in Accounting from Massey University.
Colliers has opened a new office on Port Road in Whangārei and McGregor will be joined by Team Assistant Jen Olsen.
Jimmy O’Brien, Director at Colliers Auckland North, says McGregor’s local knowledge will be hugely valuable for the organisation.
“We are incredibly excited to welcome Megan to the team and know her expertise and passion for Whangārei and the surrounding area will put her in an excellent position to succeed,” O’Brien says.
“She has a proven track record of putting together a broad array of deals and is a true market leader.
“With the ongoing development and connectivity to Northland from Auckland it is an interesting time for investors to explore this market and we look forward to seeing it continue to grow with Colliers having a strong presence in the region.”
