Ockham is bringing its signature style to Meadowbank once again with the exciting launch of Station M.
Nestled in a picturesque pocket on the Orakei Basin, the stellar location is further enhanced with its connectivity, as it’s adjacent to the Meadowbank Train Station. Small but perfectly formed, the building comprises just 14 beautifully crafted, modern and elegant one, two and three-bedroom apartments, which are spread over five storeys.
Ockham co-founder Mark Todd says the development’s concept, form and design were inspired by its very special location, particularly the proximity to the train station. Urban accessibility and convenience has long been a core principle of Ockham’s work.
“If you look at a map of where we build, 90% of our apartment buildings are within a few hundred metres of, and often right on, train stations,” Todd says.

Due to the billions of dollars being invested in our rail network over the coming decades, he says that “the story of the next century is a growing reliance on high quality apartments to house people in high quality locations that reduce times wasted on travelling, while also allowing families and children to live in high-amenity areas.”
The classic brick-clad building, an Ockham signature, is the latest in a long line of Ockham developments, so they know what works – solid concrete and steel structures, double-glazing, air conditioning and super chic, contemporary interiors.
From one-bedroom right through to three-bedroom layouts, there is an apartment to suit buyers at all stages. One-bedroom apartments are priced from $780,000; two bedrooms with car park from $1.575 million and three bedrooms with car park from $2.26m.
A focus on fostering a community atmosphere, another Ockham trademark, has been brilliantly achieved with the creation of a beautiful pool overlooking the Orakei River, landscaped garden and residents lounge with kitchenette. The other unique factor here is that all of the apartments face north or west and enjoy protected views, “which is quite unusual in an apartment situation,” says Todd.
“That aspect and those beautiful western views across the Orakei causeway to the CBD will be like that forever – pretty magical sunsets.”
As for the lucky few who get to call Station M home?
“Our hope is that it’ll be a mix of people that love urban living, people that work in the CBD, people that like Meadowbank for all its amenity and good schools and people that like cycling along the waterfront. People that like no traffic,” Todd laughs.
The neighbourhood is within arm’s reach of the resplendent Ōrākei Basin, just one minute from Meadowbank Train Station (itself just nine minutes from the city centre’s vibrant waterfront and Britomart, Commercial Bay, the Viaduct, and Wynyard Quarter) and an easy 20-minute boardwalk wander to Orakei Bay Village. It’s also compellingly close to cycle and walkway, Te Ara Ki Uta Ki Tai, connecting Tamaki Drive to the eastern suburbs.
“We are heading to three million people in Auckland, we’ve got to get serious about leveraging our transport networks and also our assets, which are being closer to our harbours and waterways,” he says.
“The more people we get living close to hospitality and retail, the more vibrant they are. That leads to happy people and good neighbourhoods.”
With a lengthy list of completed projects behind them, Ockham has long been committed to reimagining urban communities and continue to do so, even in a tough market.
“We wanted to contribute again – no one’s launched an apartment block for six months I don’t think, so we’re excited about doing that.”
It’s a love of Auckland city that keeps the Ockham team forever motivated.
“I think it’s a good time to remember that where else in the world do you want to live besides Australasia? It’s a beautiful place – let’s not split hairs if it’s better to live in New Zealand and Australia, they’re both beautiful countries to live in.
“We’re just trying to do our bit to make our city fun and exciting and world class.
“This is another step to acknowledging how wonderful Auckland is and we want to make our built form as beautiful as our natural environment, which is our ongoing ethos and has been 15 years.”
Suzie Wigglesworth, national director of residential projects at Bayleys Real Estate, says she is “really excited to be partnering with Ockham for the first time, to assist them in bringing this fantastic project to the market. We feel the boutique nature of the offering and the highly desirable location will be well received by a wide range of buyers.”
