The owners of 3 Corunna Avenue have enjoyed their home for going on 25 years, and for good reason.
Displaying every conceivable tick of the box – elevation, character, views and location – the character home and the lifestyle provided on one of Parnell’s loveliest streets would be a difficult thing to let go of.
On the market to be sold via a set sale date closing July 13, 3 Corunna Avenue has an RV of $3.85 million and is being marketed by Fleur Denning of Bayleys, Remuera.
On a flat and raised section, the home holds a commanding position on its wide avenue. The views, the owners will tell you, is what first drew them to the property and is still their favourite aspect of the property today.

“We loved the elevation, the sun and the views. We look back over to the Sky Tower and the city then across to the ports and Devonport,” the owner says. “The warmth is another, we get a lot of sun when most of Parnell has lost its sun a good couple of hours before.”

Behind the home’s strong street presence lies beautifully manicured lawns and hedges, a large inground pool and a substantial, raised vegetable garden and fruit trees, where the owners have dutifully cultivated a collection of vegetables with the seasons.
“We’re keen gardeners, so when we did the renovation, we got the area landscaped, and an essential part of the brief was a vegetable garden – we grow lettuce, silver beat, rhubarb, tomatoes, corn, and more.”
The renovation introduced contemporary elements and a reworking of the main living space. The kitchen was repositioned and updated with shaker cabinetry and plenty of storage. The larger space accommodates exposed ceiling beams, bespoke oak cabinetry, a gas fire and dark hardwood floors, providing a casual and hospitable setting. Through French doors the room extends on to the deck from where the comprehensive views are taken.
The master bedroom is separated from the remaining three bedrooms on the floor below, along with a family bathroom, another lounge and a kitchenette, which has worked well for the couple, their two boys, and any guests.

Within double Grammar and Parnell School zones, and an easy walk to Parnell Village and to the city, the property claims an enviable position in one of Auckland’s most sought-after and appealing neighbourhoods.
With their two sons now studying out of Auckland, the couple has decided it’s time another family enjoyed the marvellous surroundings they’ve relished and raised their family in.
Agent Denning says: “What is particularly special about this home is its elevated position at the top of the street with its wide north facing aspect and views and short walk to the village. I love the way the home has been beautifully renovated with high pitched beamed ceiling upstairs and soft tones and textures throughout. It has enough space for a family, yet also suitable for downsizers.”
