A high-profile development site in the emerging suburb of Drury in southern Auckland is being offered to the market for sale.

Located at 11 Bill Stevenson Drive, Drury South Crossing, the 10,084sq m freehold site is zoned Business – Light Industry Zone under the Auckland Unitary Plan.

Sitting in a prime spot, the site has approximately 80m of exposure to Bill Stevenson Drive and is near the commercial centre of Drury, just off the main arterial route of Maketu Road.

The location of the property is a major drawcard for buyers given its proximity to the key commercial markets of the North Island, Auckland, Hamilton, and Tauranga.

These three cities comprise the ‘Golden Triangle’, which is responsible for more than 50 per cent of New Zealand’s GDP, according to data from the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment. This area also houses over half of the country’s population.

Colliers Directors Josh Franklin, James Dickey, and Paul Higgins have been exclusively appointed to market the site for sale via deadline private treaty closing at 4pm on Wednesday 24 July, unless sold prior.

The relatively level site will be fully serviced with electricity, water, telephone, and sewerage.

Franklin, Director of Industrial at Colliers, says Drury will continue to benefit from the ongoing investment in the area.

“There is more than $2 billion of infrastructure investment earmarked for Drury across the next decade with the development of railway stations, bus routes, roads, and water infrastructure,” Franklin says.

“Sites with this level of exposure and accessibility will draw interest among a wide range of buyers given the considerable potential on offer.”

The site is surrounded by well-known firms, including Plumbing World, transport and logistics operator Cardinal, and industrial cable and components company Firstflex.

To complement this emerging commercial and industrial area, there are multiple residential developments being built in Drury and population estimates suggest up to 60,000 people will live in the wider area in the next 30 years.

Dickey, Associate Director of Industrial at Colliers, says the subject site is easily accessed from the nearby motorway network.

“Running alongside the eastern boundary of State Highway 1, Drury South Crossing can be reached via two highway interchanges,” Dickey says.

“From this location, Auckland city can be reached in approximately 30 to 40 minutes, while the airport is only 25km away. The development of the roading network further south means Hamilton is only an hour away and Tauranga can be reached in just over two hours.”

Higgins, Director of Industrial at Colliers, says when examining all of the key selling points, this blank canvas site is one that is not to be missed.

“With its combination of a prime location, considerable potential, and prominent road exposure, this property will catch the eye of many buyers,” Higgins says.
