He’s at it again.

After his success at selling a Waitoki lifestyle block with a 2012 V8 McLaren MP4-12C super car thrown in – the $2.76 million property was snapped up in a matter of days - Liam Collett, of Century 21 Collett Realty has upped the stakes.

Since the beginning of the month, he and fellow sales agent Donna a’Beckett have been marketing a 20 hectare property on Forestry Rd Waitoki for $6.295 million. For that, the buyer gets to choose a brand new Maserati when the deal is settled.

“The Maserati is not optional,” Collett explains. “If you don’t want the car, then the price doesn’t come down by the $200,000 or $250,000. The price has been very carefully appraised based on the replacement value of the house, the fencing, the brand new driveway, even down to the reinforced concrete of the MPI-approved 300 sq m shed.”

The 605 sq m main home, designed by South African architect Ron Saxby, has five bedrooms, three bathrooms and, as well as the slew of expected indoor and outdoor entertaining spaces, has an office, a bar and billiards room and a home theatre with a giant screen.

The owners have run a food business, Passionberry Café and purchase of that can be negotiated, says Collett, or the huge shed could be developed into stables and an equestrian centre as there is plenty of space for turning horse trucks. The two bedroom office could be converted to a minor dwelling.

Stone is a bit of a theme in the property, from the schist accents on the rendered brick exterior to the granite kitchen island bench and granite sinks in the bathrooms. There’s a triple garage – you’ll need an extra space for the Maserati, after all – four water tanks and two ponds, and, naturally, a place to land the helicopter.
