Cameron Whittaker has joined the Colliers Office Leasing team as an Associate Director and will focus on Auckland’s city fringe and southern corridor.
Having completed a Bachelor of Property at the University of Auckland in 2019, he began working in team assistant roles before gaining experience in brokerage on the North Shore and in Auckland’s central and southern suburbs.
The Colliers Office Leasing team is home to some of the organisation’s most experienced Brokers such as Paul Dyson and Rob Bird who have both worked for Colliers for more than 30 years.
With nine Brokers and two support staff across the team, they deal with many of New Zealand’s most well-known private and public organisations to offer strategic leasing solutions.

Whittaker says having the opportunity to work alongside some highly experienced leasing specialists is one of the key reasons why he chose to join Colliers.
“I am hugely excited to learn from some of the biggest names in the office leasing sector to enhance my knowledge and take the next steps in my career,” Whittaker says.
“Colliers has a highly collaborative approach, which is appealing to me and will allow me to work closely with some high-performing people so we can provide quality advice and deliver exceptional outcomes for our clients.”
With large office precincts littered across the southern corridor, including in Ellerslie, Penrose, East Tāmaki, and Manukau, Whittaker says there is considerable potential for businesses looking to optimise their footprint or explore their office options in 2025.
“There is a notable shift back to the office for team members across a lot of businesses as people want to be seen and heard in the office.
“The type of stock that remains attractive to potential tenants is space that can be readily occupied and doesn’t require extensive fit-out costs. Having functional space for staff that is complemented by meeting rooms and a boardroom is an excellent starting point.”
Whittaker will work alongside Director of Office Leasing Mike van der Putten who has completed a string of notable deals in the city fringe of Auckland and the southern corridor during the past 24 months.
“Cam has a strong presence in the Auckland city fringe and southern corridor markets and he is highly respected by our key clients,” van der Putten says.
“He has a reputation for being a collaborative team player and will be a significant asset to our organisation.”
