This luxurious waterfront retreat, equipped with myriad features for boating or relaxing, has interiors inspired by an ocean liner.

Owners Les and Louise bought here in 2017 and recently completed multiple significant improvements.

Les says: “We’d been looking for about a year for a coastal property that was very private but easily accessible.

“This property was the standout for its wow factor, the quality of the build and uniqueness of the design and for its location and amazing views.”

The home is located about 20km from Russell, with a Cape Cod-style exterior and the nautically inspired interior.

Les says: “The interior is inspired by an ocean liner and the previous owners, who built it, sourced premium fittings in shipyards and ship chandlers in the USA to obtain the ocean liner feeling.

“These are showcased in staircase hand-railing, lighting, cabinetry and many other features. Guests often comment on the exceptional attention to detail.”

This idyllic coastal lifestyle includes riparian rights and a four-tonne mooring. It suits the couple’s love of sailing and boating, swimming, walking and native bush.

Les says of their spectacular north-facing views across the bay: “To imagine the view, pretend you’ve died and gone to heaven. We have exquisite views out into Waipiro Bay and the entrance of Parekura Bay. Every room has a special view of the water or the bush.”

They’ve done native replanting in the grounds, which are mainly bush and designed to be easy-care.
