As a young and innovative team, The Urban Refinery knows the importance of differentiating themselves from more traditional developers, and the company’s latest project in the popular suburb of Hillcrest is testimony to their combined talents.
Building on past successes, they have once again created unique contemporary homes with appealing architecture, along with their signature stylish interiors.
The Urban Refinery development manager Charlie Bott says that 99 Hillcrest comprises three 122sqm stand-alone townhouses and one that’s a little larger at 132sqm. Each has three bedrooms and two bathrooms with internal access garaging and a master-build guarantee.
“These aren’t typical cookie-cutter newly built homes so they’re perfect for those with an eye for design and a taste for comfort,” he says.

“The form of our buildings is very important to us, so we went down to the South Island to Canterbury Clay Bricks, where we sourced the curved bricks that we’ve used on the front of each house. It’s an architectural effect that we think works really well.”
Nu-Wall aluminium cladding has been used on the upper levels and durable aluminium window joinery adds extra pizazz. Each townhouse is fully insulated and has a heat-pump for cool summers and cosy winters.
Although the homes are compact, Charlie says that they have been meticulously planned in order to work hard for their owners, while exuding a sense of space.
“All the rooms are surprisingly generous, and we’ve managed to include walk-in wardrobes and ensuites in the master bedrooms, while the two further bedrooms share a bathroom.”
He’s especially pleased with the kitchens which are modern and streamlined with Bosch appliances and engineered stone benchtops. Ideal for entertainers they form part of a spacious living and dining zone.
LED lighting and engineered timber floors continue the theme of contemporary sophistication, and a sunny, private, fully landscaped courtyard allows owners to enjoy rest, recreation and alfresco meals in summer.
Charlie says that 99 Hillcrest – as a whole – is specifically designed to be classic and timeless, blending in seamlessly with other properties in the pleasant, leafy suburban neighbourhood.
“We’re very proud of it and we believe it will continue to impress for many years to come.”
The first one of these exciting new bespoke, turnkey dwellings is now available and Kris Cunningham, from Ray White, says that The Urban Refinery’s commitment to superior design, quality and attention to detail is evident in every single aspect.
99A Hillcrest is perfectly positioned for local shops and cafes with plenty of green space nearby and easy access to the motorway and public transport. This first townhouse has a garage and one off-street parking space.
Kris says the property is ideal for couples but would also suit young families as the local schools are very good.
“People searching for a typical Kiwi first home should definitely take a look because it has the charm and personality they’re seeking – with all the advantages of being brand new. Plus, there’ll be free coffee and smoothies at the first open home.”
