Networking is the secret behind the success of Manhattan real estate agent to the stars Dolly Lenz and her daughter Jenny.

The duo proved just how sociable and relatable they were at the Australasian Real Estate Conference on Sunday, where they shared their tips and tricks for success.

They had the crowd of more than 4000 people on the Gold Coast laughing and clapping as they shared stories of their experiences with some of the stars, including Leonardo DiCaprio, Mariah Carey and now-US President Donald Trump.

But all eyes were fixated on mother and daughter when they started talking business.

One of their most important points – “network, network, network”.

Dolly said they constantly reached out to overseas contacts and attended charity functions to build more.

Even if they didn’t result in immediate deals, she said they might in the future, which was why maintaining relationships was just as important.

“Focus on the client, not the transaction,” Dolly said.

“If you focus on the client, you actually will make the deal – if not this deal, another deal.

“It’s all about engaging, you need to engage clients to get to the next level.”

Jenny added that part of maintaining relationships meant being yourself.

“People can tell when you’re not authentic, authenticity is key,” she said.

They also encouraged industry experts to use social media as well as traditional forms of media, including print or television, to market their products.
