The nearly-completed Omana North apartments wrapping around Milford Shopping Centre are two-thirds sold and potential buyers looking to move in this spring can now make appointments to view a finished show apartment.

Senior Project Design Manager for NZRPG (these apartments’ developers and owners of shopping centres including Milford), Ngaere Duff says: “The green wall which is going to totally transform the building is yet to be installed but visiting the show apartment should really assist people.

“They’ll be able to see for themselves how their views can never be built out because of our location next to the greenery of Wairau Creek, which is important given all the upcoming development around Auckland.

“This show apartment, 117sqm two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment 301, also illustrates well how substantial things like our kitchen areas, bathrooms and storage are.”

Omana North’s practical completion is scheduled for early September. Because NZRPG can’t control exactly how long it’ll take for Code of Compliance and titles to be issued after that, buyers can look forward to moving into their new homes in spring 2022.

Its 63 two- and three-bedroom apartments and penthouses are seven a floor in a nine-level curved tower wrapping around the shopping centre’s north and north-western sides.

A two-bedroom apartment at 20 Omana Road, Milford, is from $1.575m, a three-bedroom from $2.38m and penthouses by POA. The show apartment strictly by appointment only, but the display suite in the shopping centre is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10.30-11.30am or you can view by appointment.

Ngaere, who can see the apartments from her own home nearby, says: “This curve has allowed us to achieve unique outlooks from each apartment.”

From level 4 and above, spectacular views take in Milford Marina, Rangitoto and the Hauraki Gulf around to Castor Bay. Lower levels have views of the Wairau Creek’s protected wetland, although Level 3’s show apartment also gets a glimpse of the sea.

Most buyers to-date are empty nesters downsizing from North Shore family homes.

Ngaere says: “Some will see their boat in the marina from their apartment and some have lived in the area for 40-plus years. Some anticipate grandchildren loving the heated lap pool, accompanied by a small gym. A few buyers in their 30s and 40s appreciate the location being convenient to Smales Farm workplaces.”

There’s secure undercover access between the shopping centre and apartments, enabling owners to bring shopping trolleys home to unload.

It’s five minutes’ walk to Milford Beach, with the developers having built a new footpath and pedestrian crossing along their building’s frontage to Omana Road, which will soon drop to 30km/hour.

All apartments get a storage locker and at least one dedicated carpark in their secure basement parking. All have an additional covered, cedar-lined ‘winter room’ which can open its acoustically-efficient, thick double-glazed doors to the elements when desired.

Décor was chosen with Trinity Interiors. Kitchens in the open-plan living areas with engineered oak floors all have two ovens, with appliances ranging from high-end Fisher & Paykel to even more premium brands such as Wolf, Sub-Zero and Asko bolstered by wine fridges.

Each floors have ducted heat pump systems or fully integrated air conditioning system to upper levels.

Ngaere says unlike one-off developers, NZRPG is around to stay as one of New Zealand’s largest privately-owned retail and living development, investment and management property companies.
