While the past year has been challenging for many due to Covid-19, Colliers’ collaboration and commitment to helping their clients achieve success saw the organisation win four coveted awards at the 2021 REINZ Awards for Excellence.
Colliers Highbrook were named Medium Commercial & Industrial Office of the Year at the awards, marking the eighth time in the past nine years they have claimed the award, while Colliers Auckland North won the Small Commercial & Industrial Office of the Year category.
Greg Goldfinch, National Director of Industrial at Colliers, won the Commercial & Industrial Salesperson of the Year Award, a title he also earned in 2013 and 2020.
Colliers Hawke’s Bay Broker Calum Ironside was named the Commercial & Industrial Rising Star of the Year.

Established in 2008, Colliers Highbrook, based in South Auckland, is home to some of New Zealand’s top industrial property sales and leasing professionals.
Led by Goldfinch and Matthew Barnes, Director of Investment Sales at Colliers, the Highbrook team completed more than 230 transactions totalling $907 million in value.
“Our team, like the rest of New Zealand, experienced a challenging year but the one theme we have all stuck to is our commitment to doing the best by our clients. I am really humbled that our collaboration and hard work has translated into an award-winning result,” Goldfinch says.
“The demand for high-quality assets with versatile landholdings continues to outstrip supply in Auckland and the market looks set to remain buoyant, despite the recent lockdown.
“Our team is looking forward to a strong finish to 2021 as the region experiences further investment and growth.”
Colliers Auckland North’s success came on the back of several market-leading deals, including the sale of 13 William Pickering Drive, Rosedale; 155 Wairau Road, Wairau Valley; and 2 David McCathie Place, Silverdale.
The team of 10 brokers and three support staff work on varied projects from greenfield developments to the leasing and sales of commercial and industrial property.
Jimmy O’Brien, Director at Colliers Auckland North, says the team’s success is down to maintaining a focus on results and taking a collective approach to working with clients and their specific requirements.
“Our clients are at the heart of what we do, and we thank REINZ for this prestigious award that is the culmination of the hard work put in by our team during the past year,” O’Brien says.
Meanwhile, Ironside has built an impressive track record of sales and leases during his short time in the industry and is a former Colliers Rookie of the Year.
“I am grateful to enjoy the trust and confidence of so many wonderful clients in the Hawke’s Bay and look forward to building on those relationships,” Ironside says.
Colliers Auckland Managing Director Charles Cooper says the awards are a reflection of the organisation’s resilience during a trying time.
“I am incredibly proud of our dedicated team members who have collaborated successfully and put their clients first throughout this challenging period that initially brought about plenty of uncertainty,” Cooper says.
“The continued trust and confidence of our clients to assist them with their property decisions is something we don’t take for granted and we are very appreciative of the recognition from REINZ for a strong year of results.”
The Real Estate Institute of New Zealand (REINZ) is a membership organisation representing more than 14,000 real estate professionals nationwide. Its annual awards recognise excellence across all facets of property.
This year’s awards were conducted virtually due to the ongoing Covid-19 restrictions in Auckland.
