Ti Point is superbly positioned for taking advantage of the popular Matakana Coast with its beaches and villages and this substantial home, built in the mid-1990s, with a floor area approximately 244sqm, has a distinctive Cape Cod-style ambiance which is perfectly in keeping with its surroundings.

Kurt, who currently owns 23 Tatham Road with his wife Jacqui, says that having been reclad just prior to their purchasing it 10 years ago the cliff-top property has required very little work, although the couple did install a swimming pool and separate pool house in 2015.

“We also did quite a lot of landscaping using Shafer Design,” he adds, “And in addition, half of the site is in coastal bush with New Zealand native plants.”

The house itself has huge living rooms and a somewhat Nordic inspired entertainer’s kitchen with pale timber joinery and space galore.

Timber is also a feature in the bathrooms and in the bedrooms where the ceilings are unpainted, helping create an atmosphere of peace and serenity, at one with the environment.

The pool house offers useful space and has its own bar/kitchenette and bathroom. It’s ideal for families with older children who need their own place to hang out.

A separate barn has been used for a number of activities, including as a yoga studio and it would also be perfect for artists or craftspeople.

Kurt says that while he and Jacqui are selling now because of the age and stage that their growing family is at, they will miss the friendly tight-knit local community and haven’t ruled out returning to the area in future.
