The Coffee Club at Westfield Manukau City is one of the brand's top-performing cafes and has been one of the busiest hospitality businesses in the mall for many years.
It is being sold by Nick Giles of Link Business Broking, who says: “The current owner has been there for just over four years and has a very genuine reason to sell. He actually doesn't want to sell as the business has been very good to him but family matters call for a sale. It has been a very solid business for a number of years.”
The cafe sits at the mall's main entrance and has access and seating both inside and outside. The outdoor seating is under cover.
Giles says, “The cafe enjoys weekly sales of around $35,000 and coffee usage of 45kg. The business is run under management with the current owner overseeing operations and ensuring that costs are well controlled. He has done a fantastic job over the years and the surplus here is over $300,000. A recent price increase to the menu will see this grow nicely as well as the continued increase in weekly sales.”

The cafe has seating for over 100 inside and out and enjoys a full on-licence. It currently opens mall hours but could open earlier and close later using its external entrance.
The Coffee Club is one of the best known and most successful franchise cafe companies around. Founded in 1989, the company now boasts over 400 cafes globally with 65 in New Zealand.
The company has won many franchise awards through the years and prides itself on its core values of delivering 'Good Food, Great Service and Excellent Coffee'.
The Coffee Club was founded on family, friends and customer needs with the idea to create a place that was more than just somewhere for people to meet for coffee; it would be more casual, comfortable yet sophisticated, stylish yet affordable.
The franchise system is highly developed and a new owner can expect professional training and strong ongoing support from the head office.
The Coffee Club at Westfield Manukau City is certainly one of the jewels in the company’s crown. Giles says being a consistent performer also makes the opportunity more bank-friendly than many hospitality options. Lenders feel more comfortable when they know and understand a brand and what the cafes under it are capable of.
The business would apppeal to anyone looking for a very solid and well-proven hospitality business, Giles adds. “There are always plenty of cafes and restaurants for sale but it’s rare to find such a solid option.”
Buying a franchise business offers much in the way of comfort to new café buyers. While some hospitality experience would be beneficial, full training and support is given. “What is more important”, Giles says, “is the passion to offer outstanding service and the ability to manage and motivate a team. The new owner will have picked up valuable business and life skills in their working life and many of these skills will be transferable.”
The business is available for $980,000 plus stock.
