This Whanganui beef processing plant has undergone a full upgrade and fit-out and has been fully operational from February 2021- March 2024. Current infrastructure capable of processing 70 to 90 head of prime cattle daily on one shift. Yards capacity is 115 head heavy bullocks. Cold storage on site includes a side chiller for 105 carcasses plus 3 blast freezers. Total floor area of the processing floor, office, staff rooms and stock yards, is 1,744 m2 (approx) and land area is 6,592 m2. Whanganui Port Limited Partnership is owner of the land which the vendor leases under a perpetual ground lease, next renewal date is 1 March 2036. Staff employed fluctuated between 40 and 50, plus a full time Vet, meat inspector and 4 compliance staff. Buildings, plant, infrastructure and associated equipment is for sale and is fully unencumbered. All relevant consents are in place including the critical resource and trade waste consents. Valuations of plant, buildings and infrastructure are available, plus engineering opinion on construction of a separate processing facility utilising on-site consents. Currently the plant holds export licenses to 6 countries plus the Pacific Islands. There is huge potential to increase the capacity of this processing plant and is priced by negotiation.
