Colliers enjoyed a highly successful evening at the 2024 REINZ Awards for Excellence in Auckland this week.

After taking a clean sweep of the six Commercial & Industrial awards at last year’s event, Colliers again marked considerable success in that category, while also receiving recognition in other sectors.

Colliers Christchurch was named Medium Commercial & Industrial Office of the Year and Christchurch Director Sam Staite won the Individual Commercial & Industrial Salesperson of the Year crown for the second year running.

Staite was also the top-performing individual Broker across the Colliers New Zealand business in 2023.

For the sixth time in seven years, the North Shore office won the Small Commercial & Industrial Office of the Year.

Kerry Cook, Senior Administration Executive from the North Shore team, was named Personal Assistant of the Year (non-selling).

Directors Matt Prentice and Shoneet Chand won the Overall Commercial & Industrial Salesperson of the Year award, an award for salespeople that work in a partnership, for the second year in a row. Cook’s work is largely focused on assisting Prentice and Chand.

While based on the North Shore, Prentice and Chand have continued to establish their reach across other parts of Auckland with specific asset class knowledge in the commercial and industrial sectors.

Warwick Searle, Director of Forestry, won the Individual Rural Salesperson of the Year award.

Gareth Fraser, CEO of Colliers New Zealand, says the range of winners exemplifies why Colliers offers such a broad suite of market-leading services for its clients.

“Congratulations to all of our award winners, this recognition is richly deserved and a testament to the hard work of our team members,” Fraser says.

“Our team continues to accelerate the success of our clients in all corners of the property sector.”

Mark Macauley, General Manager of Colliers Christchurch, says he is incredibly proud of the team who delivered an outstanding year of results.

“The Christchurch and broader Canterbury market continues to remain buoyant, and our dedicated team of professionals have considerable local expertise, which has contributed to our success,” Macauley says.

“We are privileged to have an exceptional group of clients that we work with and we thank them for continuing to place their trust in us to deliver first-rate outcomes for them.”

Colliers North Shore is based in Takapuna and led by Director Jimmy O’Brien and offers expertise on a broad array of property types from greenfield developments to the leasing and sales of commercial and industrial property.

“We thank REINZ for the recognition and I am hugely proud of my team for what they have achieved during the past year,” O’Brien says.

“Matt and Shoneet continue to perform to a high standard, while Kerry’s award is thoroughly deserved as she provides an exceptional level of service in her role and is a major asset to our team.”

Searle, one of the prominent leaders in Colliers’ rapidly growing Rural & Agribusiness team who offers dedicated forestry expertise, says his win reflects the collaborative nature of Colliers.

“The strength of having asset class experts who can operate across the country in conjunction with the local agribusiness teams is a real benefit to our clients, and the results speak for themselves.”

Alongside having a number of winners, Colliers was also a finalist in a handful of categories.

Auckland-based Investment Sales & Leasing Broker Michelle Wang was the runner-up in the Individual Commercial & Industrial Rising Star Salesperson of the Year award and Greg Goldfinch, National Director of Industrial, was a finalist in the Individual Commercial & Industrial Salesperson of the Year award.

Colliers Highbrook was a finalist in the Medium Commercial & Industrial Office of the Year category and the Auckland Central office was a finalist in the Large Commercial & Industrial Office of the Year award.
