He worked for Colliers in England and Ireland between 1997 and 2002 and in New Zealand approximately 10 years ago when he was focused on project management.

McKinney most recently worked for Precinct Properties as a Project Director and is looking forward to reconnecting with some former colleagues.

“I am immensely excited about coming back to Colliers and I am eager to take on a new challenge while seeing some faces I have got to know well over the course of my career,” McKinney says.

“This new role allows me to piece together 30 years of experience into one position. I can leverage that experience to cast the net a bit wider and get involved in a number of different opportunities alongside some highly talented people.”

McKinney previously worked with Bruce Gallie, Chief Operating Officer for Colliers, in England and has a longstanding relationship with Executive Chairman Mark Synnott.

McKinney has joined a high-performing team at Colliers that includes Director Rob Campbell and Associates William Silk and Renee Lintott.

They specialise in providing expert advice on complex property transactions across a range of different corners of the market and have worked with some of New Zealand’s most well-known public and private entities.

The work they do is integral in connecting multiple service lines across the Colliers network meaning Colliers can offer clients their full suite of property services.

Gareth Fraser, CEO of Colliers New Zealand, says McKinney’s appointment adds significant experience to the organisation.

“We are thrilled to welcome Alain back to the team and look forward to seeing how his deep knowledge of the property sector will allow us to continue to deliver high-quality service for our clients,” Fraser says.

“His unique skill set coupled with the relationships he holds across the real estate industry means he will be able to hit the ground running to lead our Strategic Advisory offering.”
