Greer Stephens understands the importance of space. Which is why it takes such precedence in his developments, and The Blake is no exception.
A collaboration between Stephens and architect Paul Brown of PB&A, The Blake was designed to deliver refined residences for a sophisticated market, and they succeeded.
The boutique collection of apartments at 3-5 Blake Street, beautifully placed between Jervois and Ponsonby Roads, are the result of a very considered and purposeful design that marries modernity and function, without fault.
The Blake’s penthouse, in particular, is a supreme illustration of Stephen’s insight into what people want.

“We wanted to keep the proportions for someone as if they were coming out of a bigger home. Someone who craves a sense of space, without the maintenance. The rooms are deliberately generous, it feels more like a house on top of a building. With glass on all four facades, it’s flooded with light and a feeling of spaciousness,” says Stephens.
The kitchen and living area is the recipient of remarkable outlooks and abundant light, with gallery-like white walls, streamlined surfaces and plenty of glass, allowing residents the freedom to form their desired aesthetic and experience.
The kitchen has been designed with possibly everything a keen entertainer or chef could ask for. Sub-Zero and Liebherr appliances along with a bespoke kitchen island anchor the space at the end of the vast living area.
An open fireplace with surrounds serves as the focal point in the light-filled and entertaining-ready room. The space is generously supplemented by one of the two balconies, protected by louvres and offering both northern and western views.
“What sets the apartment apart is the outlook in all four directions. You get peaks of the sea, a grandstand view of the Waitakere Ranges and then views to the city and Sky Tower,” adds Stephens.
The unexpected hallway offers expansive white walls for art and leads to a media room and two generous bedrooms. Both with ensuites, and the master with a large walk-in wardrobe and a private balcony.
Certainly, Stephens’ intention that the apartment offered absolute sanctuary is apparent in every inch of the home.
Bayleys agent Edward Pack is marketing the property to be sold by set sale date closing August 24. He emphasises exactly what makes The Blake and its penthouse so appealing.
“People are loving the location, a small boutique block set in the quiet but perfectly positioned street, The Blake still feels connected to the community,” Pack says.
“The penthouse is high enough to get the incredible outlook, but not so high that you feel disconnected. The apartment itself is incredibly well considered and laid out; you don’t feel like you’re in an apartment, which makes it exceptional.”
